Volunteers are Needed

The following volunteer opportunities are available:

• Cool Winchester Website Administrator
  • Identify when sections of the Cool Winchester website need to be updated (e.g. FAQ, support pages, local green tips, etc.) and work with the appropriate Cool Winchester Management Team Members to get an update for each section
     

 

• Technical Co-Administrator for Cool Winchester Website
  • Periodically update the Cool Winchester website code with revised presentations, revisions to FAQ, green tips, and other information on the website

   

• Publicist for Cool Winchester
  • Maintain a publicity manual for the project
  • Publicize each Cool Winchester event on WinCentral, WinCam, and other community outreach sources
  • Write and submit press releases, email announcements, flyers, newspaper articles, and other media content
  • Submit "latest news" content for the Cool Winchester website
  • Be the liaison to the media

   

• Partner Organization Liaison
  • Identify contacts at assigned potential partner orgs and invite them to a Cool Winchester Breakfast Meeting
  • Communicate with assigned partner orgs to help them identify an eco team coordinator and/or team leaders and ensure they come to the training sessions
  • Keep in touch with assigned partner orgs to see how they’re doing in reaching their eco team commitments and if they need any assistance
  • Feed back to assigned partner orgs any adjustments needed in the process
    

   

• Fund Raiser
  • Solicit donations through mail, email or other means
  • Plan fund raising events.

   

• Online Carbon Aggregator Administrator
  • Be the liaison with MCAN to ensure the online tool developed suits Cool Winchester's needs
  • Add new partner organizations as appropriate
  • Address any issues eco team coordinators and team leaders are having with the system
  • Pull reports from the system for Cool Winchester

   

• Volunteer Coordinator
  • Work with Cool Winchester Team to determine where volunteers are needed
  • Write job descriptions for each volunteer role and ensure they get up on the Cool Winchester website and out to Win Central and WinCam
  • Place qualified volunteers into the open roles and support them when they come on board
  • Manage volunteer access list to Cool Winchester files
  • Keep volunteers motivated and enthusiastic and think of ways to thank/reward them

   

• Cool Winchester School Liaison
  • Coordinate with Winchester schools to implement "Journey for the Planet" and other environmental curriculums
  • Determine how the school programs can be aligned with and help the Cool Winchester Project in reducing the community's carbon footprint

   

• Sales/Marketing
  • Propose Cool Winchester product ideas
  • Manage marketing and sales processes of Cool Winchester products (e.g. T-shirts, bumper stickers, etc.)
