Winchester's First Annual Eco Festival (www.FANWinchester.org/EcoFest)
October 25, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm
Winchester Town Common, Winchester Town Hall, and First Congregational Church.

The first ever Eco Festival is happening in Winchester on Saturday, October 25, 2008! The themes of this event, co-organized by Sustainable Winchester and Winchester Family Action Network (FAN) will be recycling, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. It will be a fun, free, community-wide celebration of the positive lifestyle changes we can make to help the environment.

We'll have booths set up on the Town Common (alongside the last Farmers Market of the season) for exhibitors, plus there will be presentations at the First Congregational Church, a collection center (possibly in the Jenks lot) for recyclable items like sneakers, electronics, and building materials, and related art exhibits at Town Hall.

Are you or someone you know a person who:

  • Can organize an environmentally-themed activity for kids?
  • Has experience writing press releases or otherwise promoting events?
  • Would like to have a table at the Eco-Festival to highlight an environmental for-profit or non-profit venture?
  • Can give a dynamic presentation on some aspect of sustainability?
  • Would like to sponsor this inaugural community happening?
  • Is willing to give up a Saturday in October to help out at the event?

    • If so, please let us know as soon as possible. We're hoping to finalize the brochure by September 15.
